Tangled by Emma Chase
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Damn. Tangled was a nice surprise. I loved Drew and Katherine. It helped that the model on the cover fueled my imagination for Drew (yum) but the chemistry between Drew and Katherine was HOT. I thought they were going to burn the pages off my book (ha-ha, sorry that was lame). I loved the book from beginning to end and was thoroughly entertained the entire time. Drew Evans is your typical arrogant, chauvinistic playboy who thinks he’s got it all made because he’s working for Daddy and knows he’s good at what he does. BUT, Katherine Brooks is better. She’s beautiful, smart, hard-working and willing to prove that she has what it takes to be an asset to Drew’s father’s company. They duke it out and end up working on a major client case together and that’s when the sparks fly. I really don’t want to spoil it, but let’s just say it gets more and more fun as you read. I thought Drew’s dramatic week-long shut in episode was hilarious. You always hear about the girl who gets heartbroken and binges on Ben & Jerry’s for a week, then gains 10 lbs of break-up weight, but it’s refreshing that Drew, the egotistical man’s man ends up broken from rejection.
It had everything I expected and more at times. The witty banter, the sexual tension, the actual sex scenes, and an actual love-hate relationship..which of course eventually turns into love. The emotional ride in Tangled is worth the read. I highly recommend it. 4/5 stars.
